Privacy

What we store

• Your documents and proposals. The RFPs you upload, the sections you write, and the supporting documents you attach — stored so the product can do its job: checking your draft against the RFP, keeping your work between sessions.
• Your conversations with the coach. Stored so the coach remembers the thread you are in and so you can pick a conversation back up.
• Your decisions on AI suggestions. When you accept, edit, or dismiss an AI suggestion, Write Alongside records your decision and the resulting text so the assistant can learn your preferences and avoid re-suggesting changes you've rejected. This information is private to your account and is never shared with, or used to train models for, other users.

Interaction signals

We record how the product is working for you — including whether a conversation seems to be going badly — as labels only, never your words. A signal looks like “this turn read as frustrated” — a category from a fixed, reviewed list, plus counts and timestamps. Free text cannot ride along: our analytics pipeline only accepts fields on that list, and the internal register we review holds counts, never names or prose. This helps us fix friction.

You can turn this off any time in Settings → Interaction signals. Turn it off and we stop recording these signals for your account and exclude your account from friction analysis.

What we never do

• We never train AI models on your content — yours stays yours. The AI providers we call are commercial APIs that do not train on customer content by default.
• We never sell your data.
• We never store your words in analytics — signals are labels, counts, and timestamps, drawn from a closed list.

Retention

Your proposals, documents, and conversations stay for as long as they are yours to work on: deleting a proposal deletes the data tied to it, and deleting your account deletes your account's data with it.

Interaction signals are kept for 12 months and then deleted automatically. Turning signals off in Settings stops new ones immediately; the 12-month clock takes care of the ones already recorded.

Deletion on request

Email hello@writealongside.ai from your account email and we will delete your account and its data, and confirm when it's done.

Who else touches your data

These services run parts of the product. Each sees only what its job requires:

• Vercel — Hosts the application. Handles the web traffic between you and us.
• Supabase — Runs our database and sign-in. Your proposals, documents, and conversations live here, scoped to your account.
• Anthropic — Runs the main AI models — drafting, coaching, conversation. Sees the text needed to answer the requests you make — nothing more.
• Google — Runs a smaller AI model we use to read the documents you upload and to run the checks that score and flag your draft. Sees the text those jobs need — nothing more, and never to train on it.
• Stripe — Processes payments. We never see or store your full card details.
